Upgraded Thai Spa through “Thai Spa Excellence Quality Standard”

Spa is one of our major service industries that has been continuely developped as well as the increasing in health and beauty concerns among consumers. Even though Thailand was not an origin of spa business, the charming of Eastern culture that shows through the five-human sense could create satisfaction to the clients. Therefore, spa industry became popular and has expanded to be 1,500 places around the country. And the expansion of this spa industry also help boosting up other related industries as well, such as, the natural spa products, the Thai traditional massage, and many healthy hotels and resorts. Moreover, there are many spas that combine both Western and Eastern styles which even make Thai spa more accepted and well known.

          Although Thai spas have good reputation around the world, the service provided in each spa is not consistence and not at standard level. Currently there are regulation standards issued by Ministry of Health and some private companies, but they are basic and ground regulations that not cover every detail. Therefore, Thai Spa Association is carefully concern about under-standard labors and capital transfer in the future when the Asian Free Trade Area agreement is completed.

          Consequently, Thai Spa Association who represents over 450 spas and related businesses in 20 countries around the world collaborated with SGS (Thailand) to identify Thai spa standards under “Thai Spa Excellence Quality Standard” The purposes of these standards are to increase overall Thai spa standards to be as equal as international level and to gain more acceptance among world’s clients. Moreover, including quality management standards, Thai Spa Association believes that will help improve business as well as human resource at the same time.

Thai Spa Association’s goal is to boost the whole industry to be the Center of World Spa by implemented our advantages, such as, our skillful labors, the local materials and resources, and the natural locations. These are Thai spa advantage selling points that the Association aims to promote in order to achieve the ultimate goal. Furthermore, Thai Spa Association will improve the overall quality through training sessions for workers in order to deliver high quality service, increase business values and customer’s satisfaction, and finally become the World leader in spa industry in the future.
