Department of International Trade Promotion launched www.thaitrade.com to introduce Thai products to global market

 Department of International Trade Promotion officially launched www.thaitrade.com, aiming to create B2B E-commerce channel that stimulate additional revenue for Thai entrepreneurs. Department expects no less than 600,000-million Baht purchase order from 43 countries worldwide.

 

Mr. Kittiratt Na-Ranong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce shared that Department of International Trade Promotion, under Ministry of Commerce, foresees significant opportunity of E-Commerce and launches www.thaitrade.com website as export promotion channel for Thai entrepreneurs to distribute products to buyers worldwide. This website is the new trade channel that creates opportunity and trading potential for Thai entrepreneurs. Department is confident that thaitrade.com, under Department of International Trade Promotion, can create reliable image in international level as one of international trading promotion organizations in Asia. Moreover, Department of International Trade Promotion has also screened online sellers to ensure quality standard that promote confidence of foreign buyers. In opening event, 1,000 distinguished guests participated, including ambassadors, Thailand-based trade promotion organizations of various countries, Thai entrepreneurs, foreign buyers, representatives of related organizations and associations such as Trade Association, Thai Chamber of Commerce, The Federation of Thai Industries, many departments and organizations that promote Thai export.

 

 Mrs. Nantawan Sakuntanaga, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion added that B2B E-Commerce transaction value in Thailand is no less than 190,000 million Baht annually, or 36% of overall E-Commerce nationwide and likely to grow continually. Presently, entrepreneurs are likely to create websites without reliable integrated product hub, and certified standard for foreign buyers. The main objective of Department of International Trade Promotion is to promote Thai products to global market so www.thaitrade.com website is initiated to be the product hub of Thai entrepreneurs that attracts world market as B2B marketplace. About 1,000 entrepreneurs have joined membership.
