Thai Ocean Industries Co., Ltd. was established in 1975 A.D. by Mr. Sukit Wattanapornprom and Ms. Ratana Chinabutranont in the name of THAI OCEAN IMPORT LP. Firstly, the company had imported umbrella structures and fabrics from Japan Hong Kong Taiwan, then manufactured as finished umbrellas.  Later, in the year 1981 A.D. the government had increased importing tax for the finished good sectors, which caused imported products more expensive.  The company had an opportunity to develop production potentials by setting up DAI BRELLA LP. to self supplying the instant umbrella fabric from the materials in THAILAND.  

In 1987 A.D. the company developed the umbrella production line to support the increasing demand.  At the same time the new company had been merged under the new name “THAI OCEAN INDUSTRIES Co., LTD.” and extended the production lines to Theparuk Road, Bangplee district, Samutprakarn province.  so that the production capacity has been increasing up to 5 times, from 500,000 units/year up to 2,500,000 units/year.   In the year 1988 A.D. the company initiated the first umbrella parts production line in Thailand.  

Subsequently, the company developed its own product design and development competency.  As the beverage market has been continuously expanding, the demand for advertising umbrella has also been related increasing. 
  This is the grand opportunity to strengthen the skill for the larger umbrella scale such as beach umbrellas and patio umbrellas for advertising.  To increase the exporting proficiency, the company intended to reach the international standard by setting up the quality system in 1999 A.D. ISO9002  Accordingly, THAI OCEAN INDUSTRIES Co. LTD. has become the world’s first umbrella manufacturer that achieved the ISO9002 standard and received the “THAILAND’s BRAND” Logo from department of export promotion, the ministry of commerce royal Thailand.  

In 2003 A.D. the standardize system was updated from ISO9002 to ISO9001:2000. Apart from the production processes, in 2005 the ISO9001:2000 has been once updated again to cover the product design and development processes.
