PB Pipe is made from polybutylene resin, the high quality product from Europe and USA. Polybutylene resin is a plastic that has high molecular weight, which offers high physical properties and high environmental stress cracking resistance (ESCR). With these excellent properties, PB pipe is suitable to use in any water system. It can resist the temperature from –40°C to 48°C for cold water and -15°C to 90°C for hot water.
1. Unusual flexibility
PBP Polybutylene pipe is more flexible than an other plastic pipe. Its high flexibility eliminates many chances of direction fittings compared to a conventional plumbing system and leads to the short time in installation. It also helps to reduce head loss and make greater flow in pipe. The bending radius for PBP Polybutylene pipe is as small as 10 times pipe diameter.
Weight of Polybutylene is about 10% and 50% to that of galvanized cast iron and PVC respectively. Not only does this make for easy handling, but it also results in substantial savings in man power transportation and installation equipment costs.
3. High impact resistance
Due to its high flexibility, PBP Polybutylene pipe can effectively resist to external load and water hammer as compared
to other plastic pipes.
4. High design pressure rating
PBP Polybutylene pipe is qualified for 1000 PSI design pressure rating, the highest rating for any flexible plastic water tubing material. The highest working pressure of PBP Polybutylene pipe is 200 PSI.
5. Superior heat resistance
PBP Polybutylene pipe is made from high quality resin that allows PBP Polybutylene pipe having long service life at elevated temperature. The maximum temperature that PBP Polybutylene pipe can resist is 48°C (for black pipe) and 82°C
(for grey pipe)
6. Non toxicity
PBP Polybutylene pipe have been proven hygienically sound. They add no taste or adour to water. They are also resistant to bacteria, algae and fungi which could cause scaling or build-up in other piping products. They are equally suited for use in hot and cold water systems. PBP Polybutylene pipe are certified by NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in America that they met their requirement.
7. Excellent chemical resistance
PBP Polybutylene pipe is not subject to corrosive attack by most of the exotic chemical compounds and therefore is ideally suited to applications where chemical solutions or corrosive environments create problems for other materials. For special applications, customer is requested to seek expert advise from manufacturer.
8. Long service life
PBP Polybutylene pipe is made from the toughest thermoplastic resin currently available for high temperature pressure pipe. It combines high flexibility with exceptional resistance to abrasion, chemical corrosion and stress-cracking. All these superior features provide PBP Polybutylene pipe a long service life for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Raw material, Polybutylene 4201 is used for cold water pipe and Polybutylene 4237 is used for hot water pipe in accordance with ASTM D 2581 which have hydrostatic design stress 1,000 PSI. (6.89 Mpa)
Pipe sizes from 15 mm to 50 mm are produced according to ASTM D2666 and pipe size bigger than 50 mm are produced according to ASTM D 3000
Cold water and hot water pipes are produced according to ASTM D 3309. AWWA C 902-88 for polybutylene (PB) pressure pipe and tubing 15 mm through 80 mm for water is also applied.

Fitting and Joining System
For customer's saving and convenience in their various applications, special joining methods have been developed.
* Grab Lock.
Using Grab Lock for joining is very easy. Just cut the pipe square, put it into fitting and do tightening to achieve a high quality, leak proof and durable joint. Grab Lock fitting is designed for connecting PB Pipe with sizes from 15-50 mm, is water supply systems even at high pressure. Grab Lock fittings can also be used for hot water system in building or industries. Parts are made from non-toxic materials and hence suitable for a system conveying potable water.
* Socket Fusion.
The socket fusion method involves the heat fusion of the outside surface of the pipe to the inside surface of fitting with the use of an electrically heated tool with male and female heat faces. (Temperature from 230°C – 260°C) socket fusion, is the simple method so it is commonly accepted method of joining pipe sizes from 15 mm to 100 mm. This method of joining pipes is especially used for high-pressure systems such as golf courses, high buildings and installation of the fighting sprinkler systems.
This method provides the best quality joints, suitable for both hot and cold water supply systems, especially for high-pressure applications. Temperature, timing, clean surface, square pipe ends and roundness of pipe should be concerned.
* Butt Fusion.
The joining system requires experienced welder and tools. Firstly, pipe is put on the chasis and hold by a clamp. Next the end of pipes are cut by trimmer and welder checked their alignments. The pipe end is heated and held together under specified pressure. (Temperature from 230°C–260°C) This joining system is suitable for pipe size from 100 mm to 200 mm. It is not necessary to use any fittings
